Paul and Clara Gustafson were Mason City residents who were committed to their family and community. As a memorial to her parents, Marion Wanat and her husband, Tony, established this fund in 1981 for NIACC students from the College’s service area who have completed at least one and preferably two semesters of study at NIACC and possess an academic record showing the potential to succeed.
Paul and Clara moved to Mason City in the 1920’s, Paul worked for the Chicago Northwest Railroad and Clara raised their five children.
Paul and Clara Gustafson were a friendly, loving couple who wanted to give something back to the community in which they lived and this scholarship will help keep the memories of this couple alive.
