Former NIACC Board member Rosie Hussey was a lifelong learner and a consummate volunteer. She was a leader in every sense of the word. Rosie served on the NIACC Board of Directors for 12 years, and was ultimately appointed to the Iowa State Board of Education by Governor Tom Vilsack, a position she held for 12 years. As a leader, Rosie held key positions in her career as well. She was the Membership Director of the Mason City Chamber, worked with the EDC, and became CEO of Girls Scouts of North Iowa. Upon Rosie’s passing in 2023, her husband Dan and their daughters chose to create a term scholarship in her memory. The Rosie Hussey Memorial Scholarship will assist female NIACC students who have shown qualities of leadership and involvement.
