Glen and Penny Krogh

Glen and Penny Krogh established a NIACC scholarship in 1997 to help support area students.  “It is a privilege to help NIACC.  We want to see both the school and its students succeed,” Penny said.

The Kroghs lived in Mason City since 1952.  “We want to pay back the community for many happy years,” Penny said, “and we chose to do this through a scholarship.”

Glen was a dentist in the Brick and Tile Building in Mason City from 1952 to 1985.  Penny taught school in Iowa City and Mason City, then joined Glen’s dental practice in 1973 as his secretary.

“Glen had many skilled, cute, young secretaries in his practice, but the young men kept meeting and marrying them and they would move away,” Penny laughed.  “So he hired me to solve this problem!”

The Krogh’s were very involved with both church and community activities in Mason City.  Glen was affiliated with dental organizations on a local, state, and national level; as well as the Masonic Lodge, Kiwanis, Elks Club and First United Methodist Church.  Penny was active in several organizations, including PEO Chapter LB, Alpha Delta Kappa and other educational and dental societies and the First United Methodist Church.

Glen and Penny always supported NIACC by attending College activities and will continue to support NIACC through this established Glen and Penny Krogh Scholarship.
